I made it North Carolina last night around 11 PM. I would have got there three hours sooner if I took my usual route but my GasBuddy app showed me a station in Harrisburg, VA at $3 a gallon. So I waited until I got there to fill up. I just now did the math and realized, with the extra miles it took me off my normal route, I was better off filling up at the Citgo and taking the straight shot to my aunt's.
Anyway, it is nice to see Mom and my brother again after so many years. My sister couldn't make it for reason but oh well. Today we are going to Wrightsville Beach and get burritos for lunch. Then for dinner, I'm making lasagna, with Caesar Salad and garlic bread.
Hope that you had a great time in NC and make it back home safely. You're right, sometimes in our quest for a sale we end spending more time and energy than it's worth. I will confess - I know which gas stations on my work/home, home/work routes are generally cheaper. So I will from time to time go out of my way. LOL
